Pregnancy : Anything I Can Do To Prevent Pregnancy Morning Sickness?
Yes of the great first signs of pregnancy - that delightful bought of pregnancy morning sickness. Even with the name of 'morning sickness', you can find yourself being sick morning, noon, and/or night. It will normally occur in the first trimester or your pregnancy and end by the second, this isn't the case in all pregnancies though. For some unlucky women it will continue until the very end of term. Just always remember the joy at the end.
What causes morning sickness?
Nausea can happen immediately or for a lucky few have no morning sickness at all. No one is for certain what causes morning sickness, it is a change in the body that happens during pregnancy. Many women seem to get sick after taking the prenatal vitamin pill, try taking it later in the day closer to bedtime. Pregnancy : What About Those Stretch Marks ?
Pregnancy: What About Those Stretch Marks ?
The minute you find out you are pregnant you know things are going to be changing, from your waist size to those little pregnancy stretch marks that pop up on your belly. Stretch marks are exactly that, red or purple marks left in your skin because it has stretched. The most common areas for it to appear is the buttocks, thighs, stomach, breasts and even arms. Ninety percent of all pregnant women will get them, whether they get a lot or a few depends on the body and how they are preventing them.
There are a few ways to minimize the sickness, but they don't work for everyone. Try keeping some salty crackers on hand, such as Saltines. Try drinking some ginger ale, it calms the stomach down, just leave the cap off a bit to let it get a little flat. Dry cereal is another good thing to eat, your stomach may just be a little bit hungry and trying to tell you. Remember to take small portions, this way you know if it is all going to come up or not, you don't want to down anything too quickly or it just may decide to come back up just as quick. Sleeping is another good way to avoid it, however it may wake you up. One very important tip - keep yourself hydrated, not only can dehydration make your sickness come but you can become so dehydrated that you may need to go to the emergency room if you aren't careful.
- The Best Position for Labor
Awhile ago I had this discussion on my facebook page about what was the best position for labor. I had a lot of great responses. I had a lot of great positions that work well for labor as well as pushing. Some of the highlights of our discussion included: Squatting Deep Knee Chest Lunge Toilet Sitting Sitting on a Glider Laying Over a Birth Ball Hands and Knees I loved what Holly had to say about hands and knees, "...during labour standing, leaning on anything, or on hands and knees rocking back and forth, for pushing...hands and knees! (Sitting up straight every now and then to allow gravity to help.) I tried other positions but always went back to hands and knees." This is so true for so many women, they try a lot of positions and keep coming back to one that feels great. Are these more positions for labor than you considered? If you've had a baby, what position did you find the most comfortable and why? If you're still pregnant, what are you planning on using for labor and birth and why? A few reasons you should go to your doctor would be if you begin losing weight because you are constantly sick. If you become dehydrated, faint, look pale, confused or throw up more than four times in a day. Your doctor may be able to prescribe something that will stop it. You have multiple people to take care of - remember to take care of both/all of them.
Try slowing down a bit, sometimes your body is just exhausted from all the errands you are running and it tries to give you a break. Your body is doing a lot of stuff it normally doesn't do - let it have the extra energy to get them done. Listen to your body, take a nap, relax and watch a television show, just take some time off. If you are looking for remedies for your morning sickness, you may try buying some pregnancy ice pops. Or if you'd prefer to stay away from the sweets you can wear a bracelet designed to stop morning sickness, they are just like the motion sickness bracelets. They don't work for everyone but they could work for you and at that point you'll probably want to try anything. As was said before, always keep in mind the joy at the end of the tunnel.
